Event recording: Not all education for the environment has to be about the environment

Last week, with my Global Action Plan hat on, I gave a talk as part of the Our Shared World learning lunch series. It was a dive into individualism, hyper-individualism and how much of a barrier it is to environmentalism. You can watch it back below, and read more about the event and series on the Our Shared World website.

I’m also sharing the PowerPoint presentation here, if you open it in editor mode you can read the rough script and one or two more things I’ve thought of since doing the presentation.

I wrote a piece a while back on escaping the thick soup of hyper-individualism that is relates to this, and I’m currently working on a speech that I’ll be delivering at TED X in Aberystwyth on Feb 22nd 2025 (which will hopefully appear later in the year on the main TED platform).

The next Our Shared World learning lunch is on Feb 4th featuring Rachel Musson from ThoughtBox, and I’ve just agreed to introduce the March event that will feature my former PhD tutor Arran Stibbe.
