Essay collection: Environmentalism in a time between education worlds
When you zoom out a bit from the day to day drama of the education system, it's possible to see that it is on the cusp of a change - a new era is coming. This is a profound moment, and while times are tough, 'the darkest hour is just before the dawn.'
After much research and many conversations with colleagues inside and outside of Global Action Plan, I've written a collection of four essays that look at two key things:
(a) What the new era of education needs to be if it is to meaningful prepare young people for the age of profound climate and ecological change we are now in; and
(b) What the environmental movement might do in this time between education worlds.
I'd love you to read them.
Each essay comes with a brief summary, and they can be read in any order. You can read and download the full collection here: https://www.globalactionplan.org.uk/generation-action/education-worlds
We would very much like to further discuss these topics with you as we gear up to campaign as 'First Mate Environmentalists' for a new era of education that is everything our children and our planet need it to be. Please get in touch via LinkedIn, or the contact page on this website.
With huge thanks to the JJ Charitable Trust for making this possible, and to everyone who has contributed in small and large ways to the deliberations so far.
